30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified (Romans 8).
Whenever someone is asked what their “calling in life” is, they respond with describing either their vocation or else some noble cause they are extremely passionate about.
When God “predestines” (prioritizes) us, He shows He is passionate about us by“calling” us. And when He calls us, we then become passionate about Him, as we are born again into the flock of the Good Shepherd. And as sheep of His flock, we hear and follow His voice (John 10:27) as He continues to call out to us and lead us.
The best calling anyone can ever have is to hear and follow the Good Shepherd as He calls us by name, leading and protecting us through each day of our lives. To know and respond to His voice is far better than hearing and responding either to our own inner voice, or the cacophony of outside voices clamoring for our attention and devotion.
Lord, we gladly desire to hear and follow Your Voice today. It is the most beautiful voice we could ever hear, and the only voice we desire to follow. Thank You for calling us out of darkness, and, as the Good Shepherd you are, for continuing to call out to us each day. Help us This Day to be faithful to You. Amen.
