28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified (Romans 8).
When God calls us to be His own people, He then justifies us to be His Kingdom people. His Kingdom is made up only of righteous citizens who have no criminal records against them, and also who have acquired a disposition to live according to His laws and His ways. They owe no debt to God’s society. This is what it means to be justified: all of our sinful deeds are exchanged for a pure heart. What a Deal — we are off Scott Free!
Thank You, Lord, for justifying us so that we can walk freely in Your perfect Kingdom of righteousness, without fear of reprisal. Help us This Day to walk like the citizens You have made us to be. Amen.
