5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2).
Long before any W(hat)W(ould)J(esus)D(o) bracelet was even conceived, the Apostle Paul thought about what He would think, that is, “What would His opinion or ‘attitude’ be?” WWJT(hink)? What was His general mental disposition, that is, what was He disposed to think? What was His mind set on? In fact, this is how the word is translated when Jesus accuses Peter of “having his mind set” on man’s interests instead of God’s (Matthew 16:23).
Before we can ever be disposed to do anything, we are already disposed to have an opinion about it — to have our minds set on the principles behind that action. Whether we realize it or not, our minds are already set on “cruise control” — the only question is, what is our cruising attitude? Is our attitude a high one (set on the things of God), or is it a low one (set on ourselves and the things of this world)?
Lord, help us This Day to have a high cruising attitude. Amen.
