10 … that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection … (Philippians 3).
To know Jesus is to know “the power of His resurrection” — because it is that same power that also raises those who are dead in their trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:4-5) to give them new life, making them new creatures in Christ who desire to live for Him rather than for themselves (2 Corinthians 5:15). You see, it doesn’t just require God’s love for us to be saved — it also requires His power. Something has to be done, and only the One and Only Omnipotent God is able to do it.
Every time we think or say or do something really godly, it is nothing less than “the power of His resurrection” working within us to make that happen. It is a supernatural connection between us and the Son whom God raised from the dead. Much of why we know we know Jesus, is the experience of His resurrection power being worked into our lives, conforming us into His image. We know the One whom we are being made into.
Lord, help us This Day to know You better. I can’t imagine anything better than this, for this will about cover everything else. Amen.
