20 Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen (Philippians 4).
When all is said and done, all that matters is God. And concerning Him, all that matters is His glory. Like a thick yet transparent cloud, it permeates heaven itself, wafting midst all the joy and bliss, bathing all the blessed inhabitants there in its indescribable fragrance. It seems almost palatable, emitting the sweetest aroma which infinitely surpasses anything on this earth.
God’s glory is inseparable from His being, for He Himself is the very definition of glorious. Indeed, His glory does not exist apart from Him, and therefore could no more be detached from Him than the Godhead itself could be separated from Itself, or than God Himself could be displaced from His throne. Its fragrance grows sweeter and sweeter with time, thus an eternity of it will never diminish the joy and bliss of glory’s glow.
Lord, like Moses, how we long to see Your glory! While we can only imagine “the glory ready to be revealed,” may we This Day at least see glimpses of it as we live for You even in this dark world. Amen.
