9 For God … is my witness as to how unceasingly I make mention of you … (Romans 1).
Paul did not think of the Roman believers and pray for them only now and then — he thought about them and prayed for them all the time — unceasingly. Thoughts of them were never excluded from his activities, and intercession for them was never excluded from his prayer life — which apparently was non-stop.
One of the greatest blessings in my life is sitting down with my wife every day after breakfast and praying for others — mostly our family and church family. But it never stops there. Off and on during the day I will think of specific ones and offer up prayers on their behalf. This is how much they all mean to me.
Thank You, Lord, for the wonderful privilege of interceding for those we love. Thank You for putting them on our hearts and minds all the time. And we know that no matter how much we think of them, You thought of them (and us) even before time began, and You think of them (and us) every millisecond of every day. And, as You think of them, Your love and grace is being poured out upon them. Help us This Day to do the same. Amen.
