9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; 11 and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ … (Colossians 2).
Paul already stated in 1:19 that “it was the Father’s good pleasure for all [His] fullness to dwell in” Christ, and now he repeats that thought. He also adds that “in Him [we] have been made complete” and “in Him” our sinful flesh has been removed through a spiritual kind of “circumcision.” It is all about being in Christ.
All the fullness of God dwells in Christ, and all our fullness is found in Him because in Him all our sins have been removed. He has made this so because “He is the head over all rule and authority,” and thus has the power to make it so.
Lord, we thank You for making us to be in Christ. Help us This Day to faithfully live in Him. Amen.
