25 … the word of God, 26 that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints, 27 to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1).
What was once a mystery is that no more. What for “ages and generations” was “hidden” from God’s people is now openly “manifested” to them. And oh, what a glorious mystery it is—that both Jew and Gentile share in the same “hope of glory” of having “Christ (Messiah) in (within)” them!
Before this, the most anyone could ever hope for was having God by their side, or at least on their side. But to actually have Him inside, well, that was just inconceivable. There is no greater glory than this, for their is no greater glory than God. Is this not the progression of everyone who has ever believed? We wanted God to be close to us, or at least to be on our side, even if just in the background. But then He actually came to live within us—and He is never going away!
Lord, thank You for this glory we have now, and for the glory that awaits us in Christ Jesus. Help us This Day to live out who we are in Christ, making this mystery known to others. Amen.
