33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways (Romans 11)!
“Unsearchable (anexeraunētos) … unfathomable (anexichniastos)”—two of the longest words you’ll find in the Greek—both of which mean the same thing: inexplicable, incomprehensible, unexplainable, impenetrable, unknowable, impossible to understand. Although it takes time to say the words themselves, one can indeed come to an end of them—yet one can never come to an end in searching out “the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God.”
The riches of God’s wisdom and knowledge are infinite, and thus we will spend an eternity trying to search them out. Thus, we will never grow tired of God, never get bored with Him, never say or even think anything like, “OK. Been there. Done that. Now what?” More than likely, it will be such things as, “Are you kidding me? Can this be? Oh, my, oh my, oh my!”
Lord, we exult in Your wisdom and knowledge, and we exalt You for them! May we This Day lean on You and learn from Your wisdom and knowledge. And may we share Your wisdom and knowledge with others. Amen.
