7 Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God (Romans 15).
This word “accept” is used to describe receiving someone into your home and showing them hospitality. How appropriate a word to use in light of what Paul was saying in chapter 14 about differences in opinion people had concerning eating and drinking. In other words, true acceptance of someone with different opinions over non-essentials is actually to cater to them.
When a catering service comes to your home, they bring what you have ordered—not what they think you should have ordered. No one would put up with a catering service that did otherwise. Just so, when we disagree with fellow believers over non-essentials, we should be willing to cater to them if given the opportunity.
Lord, thank You for accepting us! Help us This Day to accept others, that You might be glorified through us. Amen.
