Cramming the Gospel

19 … in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ (Romans 15).

The phrase translated as “fully preached” is really just one word which means either literally “to cram full” or figuratively “to fulfill.” I like the imagery of the literal sense here. It pictures the Apostle Paul out and about “cramming full” all of Asia Minor with the gospel, stuffing that blessed gospel in every nook and cranny he could.

No place can get enough of the Good News of Jesus. The gospel can never be too saturated—anywhere. I live in an area where I’ve never seen so many Baptist churches in my life. There is one literally almost everywhere you turn. And yet, there is also much darkness and wickedness here. Perhaps there are more churches than there is the true gospel message. Now that’s a thought….

Lord, thank You again for the gospel message that has “crammed” into our lives! We can never get enough of it! Help us This Day to be out and about “stuffing” it into every nook and cranny we see. Amen.
