Patience, Grace, and Love

14 We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15 See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people (1 Thessalonians 5).

Those who are unruly need to be admonished; those who are fainthearted need to be encouraged; those who are weak need to be helped—but everyone needs to be shown patience. Everyone. Why? Because we all mess up now and then. All of us.

All of us need to show grace to others who do evil to us, and all of us need “to seek after that which is good for one another and for all people.” At its core, this is what love is all about: seeking good for others, seeking the best for others—even those who have wronged us.

Lord, help us This Day to show patience and grace and love to everyone. Amen.
